Cut The Cord EU project Kickoff meeting

On November 26th, the kick-off meeting of the project Cut the Cord (CTC) took place online, due to COVID-19 pandemic. The CTC project is an EU-funded Project (GA 101036276, Call: ISFP-2020-AG-TERFIN), with duration 24 months (11/2021 – 10/2023). The project’s consortium is consisted of ten partners, from six Member States (Greece, Italy, Romania, Germany, Sweden and Luxemburg), including Research Centers, Law Enforcement Agencies and SMEs across Europe.

The main goal of CTC project is to improve the investigation capabilities of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), through training programs and innovative tools, in an endeavor to assist their mission for preventing and tackling Terrorism Financing (TERFIN). In particular, the project shall support LEAs to analyze undergoing cases exploiting technology-aided transformation, such as cryptocurrencies, as well as to enhance cross border private-public cooperation between different stakeholders involved in the “investigation supply chain”.

During the kick-off meeting partners had the opportunity to present their organizations and share additional information regarding their involvement in the project. The Center for Security Studies (KEMEA), as Coordinator of the project, presented the guidelines, methodology and procedures to be followed, for the smooth implementation of the project. Finally, the Work Packages were presented by the lead partners, giving the opportunity for clarifications and further discussion.
