VERGE is a hybrid interactive video/ image retrieval system, which is capable of searching into video/ image content by integrating different search modules that employ visual and textual-based techniques. VERGE supports the following retrieval functionalities:

  • Visual Similarity Search
  • Concept-based Retrieval
  • Text to Video Matching
  • Face Detection
  • Video Captioning
  • Activity Recognition
  • Video Clustering
  • Multimodal Fusion and Temporal Search

Evaluation of VERGE search engine is performed with participation in video retrieval related conferences and showcases as VBSTRECVID and VideOlympics.
